Terms of Service

• Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to use our services.
• Account Responsibility: If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining its security and for all activities that occur under the account.
• Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to use our services for any unlawful purposes or in a way that infringes on the rights of others.

• Voluntary: Answering our surveys is voluntary. You can answer without an account; seeing a survey’s results requires a free account.
• One Response: Please answer each survey once. If you are signed in, your account can submit each survey only once.
• Results: We publish survey results as totals, as described in section 7. We may also share or sell aggregate survey data that does not identify you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
• Moderation: We may remove, or decline to use, answers that are spam, abusive, or that may be unlawful or defamatory.

• User-Generated Content: You retain ownership of any content you submit, such as comments in a survey, but grant us a non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute it in connection with our services, including in aggregate data we may share or sell. When we use your comments, we do not identify you by name.
• Content Standards: You agree not to post content that is offensive, defamatory, or violates any laws or regulations.

• Processing: Payments and donations are processed through Stripe. We do not store your payment information.
• Recurring Gifts: Monthly and yearly gifts renew automatically until you cancel. You can change or cancel a recurring gift at any time through the link on our Support page; cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Refunds: All donations are final and non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
• No Paywall: A paid subscription is not required to access any features of informup.org.
• Tax Status: Informup is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

• Ownership: All content on our website, including text, graphics, and logos, and the survey results and aggregate data we produce, is the property of Informup or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws.
• Use: You may not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of our services without express written permission. To ask about republishing our reporting, email us at hello@informup.org.

• By You: You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us.
• By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms or is harmful to other users.

• As-Is Basis: Our services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
• Representatives and Districts: The districts and elected representatives we show for an address are provided for information only and may be incomplete or out of date, for example after redistricting.
• Survey Results: Survey results reflect the people who chose to answer. They are not a scientific poll of the whole community.
• Third-Party Links: Our services link to websites we do not control, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
• Limitation: Informup shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated terms on this page with a new effective date and note the change on our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
