Updates
- Rezoning of lots on North Negley Avenue held for 2 more weeks.
On The Docket
It has been a lighter couple of weeks on the Council as last week was the election and this week had Mayor Gainey's State of the City address to the Council. Of note:
- A public hearing was held reviewing the slag remediation for the Summerset at Frick project.
- Funds allocated for community outreach advertising the city's ability to now accept a broader range of plastics.
A Public Hearing Was Held Reviewing the Slag Remediation for the Summerset at Frick Project
- The plan will create a 12" layer of fresh topsoil over the site, requiring 50,000 cubic yards of soil.
- This topsoil will protect against high levels of detected Arsenic, Iron, Manganese, Thallium, and Vanadium.
- The plan also includes erosion protections and will create a "vegetative meadow."
- After remediation, 15 acres will become a new solar farm, and 54 acres will be given to the city to extend Frick Park.
Funds Allocated for Community Outreach Advertising the City's Ability to Now Accept a Broader Range of Plastics
- The city will send out 2 mailers advertising the city's ability to accept not just plastic bottles but plastic containers as well.
- The city distributes its recyclables at no cost to Recycle Source.
Note
No survey this week, as we still don't have many readers.
